 Bioverda Power Systems, is a division of Greenstar Ltd and specialise in the design, construction, installation, operation and maintenance of landfill gas power generation and landfill gas pipework systems.
Bioverda Power Systems is Irelands leading landfill gas utilisation company and has been operating and maintaining power generation equipment on Irish landfills since 1996 and currently operates and maintains 26 engines, capable of generating 30MW of electrical power, on 10 landfills throughout Ireland.
In 2010, Bioverda Power Systems exported 180GWh of electricity to the Irish National Grid which represented approximately 5% of Ireland’s renewable energy generation.
In the last 12 months Bioverda Power Systems, successfully commissioned 3 new power generation stations:
1. Greenstar Gas Energy (Meath) LTD. at Knockharley Landfill, Co. Meath (1.5MW)
2. Greenstar Gas Energy (Galway) Ltd. at Kilconnell Landfill Co. Galway (0.66MW)
3. Greenstar Gas Energy (Wicklow) Ltd. at Ballynagran Landfill Co. Wicklow (0.75MW)
Bioverda Power Systems are currently developing an additional 12MW of landfill gas power generation capability on the Greenstar Gas Energy sites.
