Confidential shredding may be carried out both:
On Site: Clients may have shredders on site. The shredded paper is collected in bags by Greenstar staff, where it is transported directly to paper mills for recycling.
Off Site: Confidential bins are placed on a client site, into which whole items, such as paper, CD’s, etc., are deposited. The bins are collected and brought to the Greenstar confidential facility for processing. Collection times of these bins are under special arrangement as per the client requirement. When the material has been shred it is transported to an end use destination for recycling.
The Off Site service includes:
- Uniformed driver and branded van (van may be unbranded if required)
- Vehicle GPS tracking device fitted

In addition to bins there are also a specialised Greenstar confidential paper bags with tamperproof number coded seal-tags. These bags are advantageous when doing bulk clear outs.
Greenstar use cross-cut shredders to destroy confidential material, whereby the materials are reduced by being passed over revolving blades. There are four different shred sizes available depending on the level of security required by the client.
The advantages of cross-cut shredders over straight-cut shredders are as follows:
